Iranians and Tunisians can now access more affordable home respiratory care thanks to an agreement signed by AstraZeneca and Rossmax to provide discounted nebulizers for home care.
The three-year programme aims to support patients who require nebulization therapy at home by providing a discount on the purchase of Rossmax’s NE100 home nebulizer with free delivery to patients.
Patients can enrol in the programme through a referral by their treating physician or by contacting a hotline. They will be provided with discount vouchers and information materials relating to asthma care.
Rossmax will also provide AstraZeneca with nebulizers free-of-charge, for hospitals where nebulizers have been installed by AstraZeneca.
Jürg Frei, CEO Rossmax Swiss, said: “We are very happy to bring our latest nebulizer technologies to Iranian and Tunisian households. There is a significant need for top-quality products and thanks to our strategic partner, AstraZeneca, we now have direct access to patients who suffer from chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD, asthma, and bronchitis. Rossmax products treat the upper respiratory tract and even reach the deepest lung periphery, making us unique in the industry.”
In September 2021, AstraZeneca established the first isolated respiratory emergency room at the Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz – one of the main treatment centres for COVID-19 patients in Iran – to make emergency care more safely and readily accessible to respiratory patients. Since then three additional nebulizer rooms and one mobile unit have been set up, with more planned across 12 hospitals in 2022. Furthermore, AstraZeneca recently established isolated respiratory emergency rooms at 5 hospitals in Tunis Capital, Sousse and Sfax, including at the only specialized paediatric hospital in Tunisia.
Due to the pandemic, patients with pre-existing respiratory conditions face additional risks when accessing emergency departments where patients with COVID-19 infections are also usually treated.
Rami Scander, Country President for the Near East and the Maghreb Cluster, AstraZeneca, said: “We welcome this partnership with Rossmax to help us make critical home-based and emergency care more accessible to Iranian asthma patients. AstraZeneca is offering comprehensive solutions to nebulization needs to further reduce hospital walk-ins and overcome challenges that have been raised by COVID-19. The isolated emergency rooms equipped with nebulizers are critical for patients facing situations like acute asthma attacks and other acute respiratory diseases. We look forward to supporting more respiratory patients across Iran and Tunisia.”
Five of Rossmax’s smart Bluetooth-enabled monitoring devices are now integrated with the MedM RPM Platform and MedM personal health diary apps: the blood pressure monitor X5, the pulse oximeters SA300, SA310, SB210, and the temple thermometer HC700.
Rossmax, founded in Taiwan back in 1988, is a leader in the global healthcare market, developing premium products and solutions in the fields of prevention, monitoring, and therapy. With its own advanced manufacturing capabilities, Rossmax is able to exercise end-to-end process control: from research & development to shipping & logistics, and MedM is incredibly proud to be among the company’s trusted partners.
X5 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor makes use of the PARR (Pulse ARRhythmia Technology), which is able to detect Arterial Fibrillation in a very early stage and with only one single blood pressure measurement. Rossmax believes that the patented PARR technology is a must have for an early stroke-risk screening.
HC700 is the new gun type telephoto temple thermometer that can make body temperature measurements in just one second, without any skin contact (upto 10cm distance).
SA300, SA310, and SB210 are small and lightweight pulse oximeters designed to be used at home. The devices have either 2.4” color TFT or two-color OLED displays. SA300 and SB210 models make use of the Artery Check Technology (ACT) which defines the artery condition into 6 levels.
MedM software can now automatically collect readings from the five Rossmax sensors via Bluetooth. MedM personal diary apps will securely channel the data to consumer phones or tablets for offline or in-cloud storage, while the MedM RPM platform can instantly deliver the measurements into existing caregiver workflows or EHR systems.
MedM is a global expert in Connected Health Solutions, enabling data collection from 450+ of Health IoT devices, sensors and wearables. In addition to a cough and shortness of breath, public health institutions list "fever," as one of the symptoms of the coronavirus COVID-19. Fever is one of the body's defense mechanisms.
When bacteria or viruses get into your body and cause it to malfunction, the body goes on the defensive and your immune system is activated. When this happens, a central nerve in the brain allows the heat generated inside the body to be turned up from the usually constant level. This higher temperature level increases the metabolism and prevents the increase of pathogenic agents.
